We keep in stock bare Ford/Mazda 2.5 Duratec HE tall engines. These used engine units are imported from the US where they are standard fit in the Ford Fusion (Mondeo) among others. The 2.5 engine shares its design with the 2.0 Duratec HE found in our Fiesta ST150 and Mazda MX5 NC models among others and is therefore an almost direct swap. The 2.5 is also rapidly becoming the go-to replacement for the now rare 2.3 Ranger engines often used in high performance builds.

Ideal for anyone upgrading an old classic Ford (mk1/mk2 Escort for example) or completing a kit car build. In standard form with a danST 50mm individual throttle body kit, a free flowing exhaust and appropriate engine management this engine will put out 215bhp and 220lbft. Please see the below links for further information, noting specifically the impressive torque curve (thanks to the variable cam timing) that barely dips below 200lbft throughout the entire rpm range! Very few normally aspirated 4 cylinders will come close to matching the power and torque on offer here - all within a compact and lightweight package.

Of course 300+bhp is possible with a fully built (forged), high compression engine should you desire, or an easy 300-350bhp with a low boost turbo kit.

All engines are compression tested (figures available) and sumps/rocker covers removed for internal inspection. Exact price will depend on the specific engine (some have ticketed mileage from the US breakers for example). Please get in touch to discuss current stock.
