Our Suzuki M13A and M15A engine management package is based around the hugely popular ME221 fully mappable standalone ECU from Motorsport Electronics. This is an ideal upgrade for anyone looking to run their engine on a modern standalone ECU. This kit will allow aftermarket induction such as our individual throttle body kits to be run as well as turbo and supercharger conversions.

The ME221 Loom is a Ford based loom and when used with the sensors and listed above will only require a few modifications depending on the exact application. The injector wiring harness adapters will enable this loom to plug straight onto the standard Suzuki injectors. The TPS plug will likely need to be swapped to suit the TPS is being used.


The variable valve timing of this engine can be controlled via a switched low side output from the ECU (we use the LS3 line, labelled 'idle' for this but any of the LS outputs can be used). This will allow the switch point to be specified in the tuning software based on a number of criteria (RPM, TPS etc). We recommend wiring the LS3 branch of the loom to the plug on the front end of the cylinder head adjacent to the VVT solenoid. 



Options:

MAP Sensor. Forced induction engines will require a MAP sensor. Standard NA engines would also benefit as the engine can be mapped with MAP based load. ITB conversions do not require a MAP sensor as these will be mapped alpha-n based (TPS as load).


M13A & M15A Crank Position Sensor and Triggerwheel Kit. The standard crank position/trigger pattern of the Suzuki engine is not supported by the ME221 (nor any other aftermarket ECU's) therefore the simplest solution to this is to fit our 36-1 kit. However customers may have an alternative in mind and therefore this is offered as an option. Full Details can be seen here


Coilpack Type. Our recommendation would be to re-use the OEM dual coils and ignition leads (select 'no coilpack required'). To do this the ME221 loom can be wired into the OEM coil harness (details can be provided). This route keeps the install tidy and negates the requirement for alternative coilpacks and/or ignition leads. However we do offer the Ford coilpack that will plug straight into the loom provided (custom ignition leads will be required).
