This flange is designed to adapt the earlier 1600 CVH engines found in the Ford Fiesta and Escort, to run the later CVH EFI inlet manifold. Early non-EFI heads did not have the cutout at the top of the port to accept the injector and thus this intermediate plate will provide the relief required to allow the injector spray to pass cleanly into the inlet port.
