A custom made Pipercross cone filter designed to clamp on the end of any danST universal velocity stack as a neat and compact air filter solution.

Utilising the same construction as our highly popular Pipercross PX500 and PX600 competition filters these pods have been designed to maximise airflow, whilst at the same time offering the most compact package possible. Ideal for anyone with severe space restrictions where a traditional filter setup cannot be used. These foam filter elements are supported internally by a mesh structure the same as found in the other PX500/600 filters and will not therefore be sucked in (a common problem with 'sock' style filters). 

Air filters are vital to protect your engine and we therefore always recommend running filters over trumpets rather than leaving the trumpets open to the elements. These pods therefore provide the least intrusive solution in terms of appearance - ideal for anyone wanting to show-off their velocity stacks rather than fully covering them up, whilst still maintaining the engine protection that an air filter provides. 

We have tested these trumpets back to back on our dyno and found only marginally more losses than a PX500 type filter up to around 200bhp (typically 3-4bhp where a correctly sized PX500 will not see any losses). Higher output engines flowing a lot of air start to see slightly greater losses using the pods and we would therefore suggest contacting us to discuss your application if you are chasing peak numbers. We have included a power graph of our 242bhp 2.5 Duratec (open trumpets vs pod filters) as an example - the slightly lower line (6bhp lower) being the same engine when fitted with the pods.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This item is the pod filter element only and does not therefore include any method of mounting. This part is provided to allow the customer to mount the filter by whatever means necessary for their applicationv - in particular where the trumpets are too close together to allow the use of our clamp rings (see our other shop items for the complete kit with clamp rings).
