danST Engineering are pleased to be able to offer this complete bolt on kit for the MX5 1.8 NB VVT engine. The package consists of the following:

 

1x TIG welded danST Engineering Aluminium inlet Manifold

1x Set of 37mm Keihin or Mikuni Carburettors

1x danST Engineering Carb Fitting Kit (4x Fluoro lined silicone hoses and 8x stainless mikalor clamps) in red, blue or black

1 x danST Heavy Duty 1mm Thick Novus Inlet Gasket

1 x ME100 ECU complete with Ford ST170 terminated loom (Re-pinning of the crank sensor and VVT plugs is required).

1 x danST Bike Fuel Pump Kit (new pump, not reconditioned)

1 x Throttle Linkage Kit (all parts required to adapt your existing cable arrangement)

1 x Pipercross PX600 competition air filter and baseplate cut out and ready to fit the carburettors

1 x 3 Pin Wasted Spark Coil

1 x Coolant Temperature Sensor and hose insert housing

1 x Inlet Air Temperature Sensor 

1 x MX5 36-1 Trigger Wheel

 

This kit is ideal for anyone wanting to carry out the popular bike carb modification on a kit car or restomod type project. Bike carbs offer excellent performance, reliability and fuel economy when compared to the weber alternatives. These conversions are very popular in both modified and kit car circles and provide a low cost, simple power upgrade not to mention a fantastic soundtrack!

All danST supplied carburettors undergo a comprehensive inspection, strip, ultrasonic clean and rebuild process as required. Every set of carburettors are run on our dedicated test rig to ensure smooth idle and transition to higher RPM (see our youtube channel for running examples). We provide the carbs with base settings (and necessary jets) to allow you to get your engine up and running/driving. However these settings are only approximate and it is therefore essential that the carb jetting is set up by a competent engineer/mechanic using the necessary wide band AFR equipment (ideally on a rolling road) to avoid engine damage.

Carburettors will be one of the following models (stock dependent):

YZF600

ZZR600

 

All of the above are 37mm diameter carbs and will support power levels over 190bhp and are ideal for an 1800/2000cc engine in high levels of tune. This size of carburettor will support a high revving race spec engine intended for track and race use. The manifold is manufactured from high quality aluminium with a precision Water Jet cut 10mm thick flange and TIG welded 45mm (Outside Dia) runners with a 3mm thick wall. All internal joints are fully ported/ground to ensure a smooth flow.

Custom HT leads will be required to carry out this conversion and are NOT included in this kit.

The ME100 is the latest ignition control system from Motorsport Electronics and available from us here at danST Engineering. 

This ECU is ideal for use with our popular bike carburettor kits as an alternative to the NODIZ Pro -especially in applications where full VVT control is required.
Designed for fully sequential control of four cylinder engines, it is a feature packed ECU offering all of the features of the highly successful ME221 Fuel Injection ECU (but without fueling control), in a compact, reliable and affordable form factor. Supplied with a fully terminated ST170 loom this ECU is unbeatable value for money for anyone looking for full VVT control and ignition management all in one box! Added to this we can offer an upgrade to full ME221 spec at a later date should you wish to upgrade to fuel injection.

The ME100 uses the same MEITE tuning environment as the ME221 and thus offers features such as Closed Loop Boost & VVT as well as Windowed DSP Knock Control, through to core features such as programmable inputs, custom tuneable sensor tables and full 3D mapping.
